About Homebrew Garage

Baxter - the mildly disobedient Boston Terrier Homebrew Garage: We’re Beer Mechanics!

The Homebrew Garage is a collaborative effort of three friends and a mildly disobedient Boston Terrier named Baxter. After brewing six all-grain batches of beer over the course of a year, we decided to document our successes and failures to share with other amateur brewers. It is not our intention to masquerade as master brewers; only to inspire others to take an interest in home brewing and to share what we have learned.

Our brewing backgrounds were diverse (two of us “helped” our Dads years ago and the other is a mead brewer) and when we decided to brew beer together we jumped straight into all grain brewing. We purchased all the equipment we thought we needed up front and were ready to brew before we knew it. Armed with tremendous amounts of contradictory advice and misinformation we fought our way through an all grain Irish Red Ale kit and despite our best efforts to ruin the batch, the beer turned out incredible.  From that moment on we were hooked and decided to share our hobby with others.

As we have grown in confidence and skill we have branched out to other types of beer and plan to continue to refine our craft.  We have several projects and experiments planned that will be finding their way onto this site in the future. The beer crafted at the Homebrew Garage is and always will be a learning experience for us and hopefully for you as well.  We try to keep at least 3 beers on tap and 1 in bottles so stop in anytime.  At the Homebrew Garage we always offer convenient evening and weekend hours to help meet your homebrew needs.

Thank you for taking an interest in Homebrew Garage. We hope you come back to check in often.
